Yoga / Zumba / Movement – So all may experience the beauty of flow


AP Friday Flow – reflecting the Asbury Park Music Scene, we’ll flow to a different sound or genre mix i.e., DJ synthesis, AP Musicians, pre-requests, British invasion bands, rock, latin, etc. The possibilities are limitless.

AP Teen Flow – in keeping with the successful platform of AP Friday Flow, TGIF Teen is structured similarly; however, this unique flow emphasizes: sociability requesting student playlist creations, posture practice, class intention. We provide space to breathe, relax and interact in a non-competitive process. After wards teens are welcomed to chill at basin bar to mingle with friends while waiting for parent pick-up.

Candle Light Flow – it’s late, can’t sleep, don’t want to eat – a gentle, soothing flow without too much chatter or discussion. Simple guided movement sequence focusing on internal gazing and breath.

Core Flow – challenging postures intentionally sequenced to create muscle fatigue and powerful breath delivering a restful state – inversions and core are explored.

Detox to Retox – Experience the full body facial of a heated studio moistened with vapor and tunes creating the optimum environment for a deep “cleansing” flow. Integrating Seane Corn’s, “Detox Flow Yoga” principles applied to a full body detox asana series for the ultimate mind/body cleanse.

Gentle Flow – a slow flow emphasizing stretch, body awareness and pose adaptation to accommodate injuries or limitations and simple breathing techniques. Recommended for those seeking gentle motion acting to increase blood flow and destress.

Led Ashtanga
– a comprehensive guided practice narrated by the instructor delivering the ultimate asana challenge. Ashtanga is an invigorating and challenging practice not to be pursued without proper training and consideration. This practice requires a keen sense of mindful practice given that each pose is held for about 5 breaths, the bandhas are adhered, effortless transitioning techniques and the drishti maintained.

Level I Yoga – designed with the beginner in mind, we’ll cover individual poses and string together a flow while gently mentioning techniques, breath awareness, alignment and relaxation.

Liquid Energy Pour – more often than not, we are fooled into thinking that food will restore our physical and mental balance. Most of us have only one hour to rejuvenate, in response we offer our signature class, a noon time alternative: this 40 minute Quick Flow and complimentary fresh juice shot gives you plenty of time to refresh with a shower prior to reconnecting with life’s daily demands. We start and finish promptly at the specified times.

Mysore – the way Ashtanga yoga has traditionally been taught by yoga master
Sri K. Pattabhi Jois. This self-directed yoga practice encourages each student to memorize the Ashtanga yoga sequence and develop a daily personal practice. Mysore style yoga is performed at ones pace, focusing inwardly, producing a meditative state of mind.

Partner Flow – we learn about ourselves through each other. Based on Elisabeth Williamson’s teachings this practice utilizes the forms and principles of traditional hatha yoga while incorporating the support of a partner, thus deepening the realm of the relationship.

Quick Flow – a tapered pace designed for all levels including: brief teaching moments, demonstrations and scaled body type challenges.

Sunrise Surf – moving this beautifully synchronized flow out of the ocean and onto the mat is an evolving in-the-moment practice based on Shiva Rea’s, “Surf Yoga Soul” series, the class adjusts to local seasonal surf conditions and group needs.

Siesta – Yoga Basin’s charitable giving is cultivated in our founder’s South American roots. At the sixth hour of the day, after your midday meal, close your eyes and find the Buddha within. “Mi Casa es Su Casa” free of charge for all clients, community members, students and local employees drop into the studio for a self-guided practice. Meant to facilitate restorative balance bring a mat, a towel, or an eye-pillow and arrive at your peaceful awareness. Suggested techniques include: meditation, chanting, vinyasa, or a catnap.

Tots n Knots – ages (3,4,5 & 6) Parents may choose to watch or reprieve in the juice bar as their children express energy under the watchful and caring supervision of two instructors.

Youth Flow – ages (6-11) It’s all about the friends; so we created a unique flow emphasizing sociability. Designed to explore flexibility and develop strength, the youth sequence builds upon body awareness cultivating an interactive “partnering” experience. Students gain social insight recognizing their value and contribution in executing a partnering pose. The “all about me” syndrome is quickly dismissed as the teaching emphasizes partnering techniques.

Zumba - Join the Party and bring a friend to get your next class FREE.  Promotion good through March.

Zumba – easy to follow but meant to challenge Zumba alternates high aerobic intensity with low challenging movement enticing both the beginner and advanced movement enthusiasts. Experience the changes in intensity, driven by the different dance steps and rhythms – without the negative effects of high impact aerobics. Our Zumba flows through 8-10 routines of varying intensity and style by teacher. A combination of international rhythms of earthy tones are explored: meringue, salsa, hip hop, reggaeton, cumbia, quebradita, calypso.

Zumba Gold – designed for beginners or individuals with physical limitations due to injury or age, this style is offered at a lower intensity with the same great Latin music and flow.
